Theory Test

The Theory Test is a screen-based test that consists of two parts in which you must pass both parts, and can be taken at your local Driving Standards Theory Test Centre.

The first part is the multiple choice and the second is hazard perception.

Practical Test

The Practical Driving Test will last about 40 minutes. You’ll be examined on your general driving ability. Which will include independent driving.

You’ll be asked to do one of 3 possible reversing manoeuvres:

Parallel park at the side of the road.
Park in a bay-either driving in and reversing out, or reversing in and driving out.
Pull up on the right-hand side of the road, reverse for 2 car lengths and rejoin the traffic.
